Each EWH chapter works on one or several core activities, including but not limited to:
- Repair sessions- repairing medical equipment for shipment to the developing world.
- Designing new equipment- designing specialized tools and equipment with the needs of the developing world in mind, and for EWH to manufacture and donate.
- Attending/Hosting conferences and regional meetings- multi-chapter sessions held to foster cooperation on equipment repair and designs.
- Equipment Builds - building medical equipment kits for delivery to the developing world
- Fellowship raising- raising funds to reserve spots for your members in the highly competitive EWH Summer Institute.
These core activities are what really set EWH apart from other campus organizations. In addition, there are lots of other events your chapter can host. Clinical shadow days serve to help members understand cultural and language barriers, while clinical laboratory and foreign language training give students a head start on the skills they’ll need in the developing world.
